Study strategies, habits and more

Module 3.A Study strategies and habits- After looking at the Effective study skills website, I think that the three items that I am good at would have to be making every hour count. I always utilize my time effectively. When I am doing homework or just studying, I don't let things get in my way. The second thing I would have to go with is when to study. I always make time for homework no matter how much fun I have. I also always get my homework done by the due date 100% of the time. The other thing I am good at would be taking notes. I write fast, so I can jot down word by word when a professor talks. I usually make bullet point when taking notes since it is easier to read later on and it summarizes the main points. I would say that the three weak points from the website would be the value of a schedule. I honestly don't use a schedule since I do not find it to be useful. I just calculate the time in my head and get to my appointments. I memorize all of them and always arrive on time. I am a responsible person and I am on task, so I don't find it necessary to write things down in a schedule or a daily planner. I also don't find the SQ3R method useful as well. To me, each person has their own preference when it comes to any type of method and to me, I have my own as well. The last thing I choose as my weak point would have to be outlining textbooks (highlighting things). I usually just write things down and do not find it necessary to highlight things in books.

Module 3.C Preview time management- (For privacy reasons, I won't mention the class type or title because I don't want people outside of my school to obtain any of my personal information)

Mondays: Work, then class. Most of the time, I do all my assignments after class and sometimes before but I always complete my homework days before it is due, ALWAYS.

Tuesdays: Work, then class. Most of the time, I usually do all my assignments after class and sometimes before.

Wednesdays: Work, then class. Most of the time, I do all my assignments after class and sometimes before.

Thursdays: Work, then class. Most of the time, I usually do all my assignments after class and sometimes before.

Fridays: Study and hang out with friends.

Saturdays: Hang out with friends.

Sundays: Hang out with my friends.

 Module 3.D Learning journal-

The things I learned this week from the faculty were that the final capstone takes 9 months. I never thought it would take that long, I thought it was a semester long project since it was never mentioned in any of my other classes. I also learned that we have to sign a contract to peruse the major that we are in. Overall, I learned a lot this week.
